I’m sorry I believe that the Canadian laws need to be changed. We need to have the right to defend ourselves because if a criminal breaks into your house, a cop is not jumping out of your closet. I think we inherently have the right protect ourselves and our property because the government or the cops are not going to do it for you

I was parked in a plaza fell asleep, woke up to ems knocking and I told em I was ok just tired and as they were walking away a police officer came and blocked my car and he came to my window with out reading my right asked my licence and I told him why he is doing this he said because I was sleeping in my car and as I go to take my license one of my other cards fall since my wallet is very small and that caused him to say I was slurping my words so he asked me to do a breathalyzer and if I didn’t I would be arrested once I got out he went to search in my pocket and I got angry told him to back off he felt the pipe in my pocket and I asked for super visor explained him didn’t do nothing they kept detained iligaly next officer came jumped on my back and arrested me. I wasn’t driving at the time just my car was on, I was at the gym at 4:30 am and went to work after till 7 pm and even tho I did all the tests they charged me with impaired driving and 3 month suspension , screwed my life this guy. Because I had a pipe and then they searched my car and found some meth even though I told him I did not smoke and he started talking shit about how you wearing an expensive. Clothes and you came from work (construction) I told him it’s non of his business breathalyzer nothing but then they told urinal test in the police station and they took all the walking around did all perfectly I believe, this ruined my life couldn’t continue school and I couldn’t work properly with all the other expenses that I had in left with so much debts . I cannot hire a lawyer for my self so I’ll be the one who’s going to be representing my self , though I’m not sure how to deal with this situation right now I was crying because of my girl we had found out she has breast cancer and I talked to her before this officer comes we were supposed to each other later on that night , I was so sad while I was crying I fell asleep , and all this , if some one can guide me a little bit I’ll be appreciated I was in my last term in my school only 2 month left:( and I’m in debt close tho 80000 dollars. Life is been though for me my girl just broke up because of my situation and I have court in 4-5 days

The way it's..I was victimized then I completed and soon after I was sued for defamation. Then I lost everything I worked all my life, yat JUDGE was cooked as it cound be and two of us had to pay criminals 158k + 16 days of court case + transcript for SUPOSEDLY defamation. Moreover, judge was defending criminals actions to that point that criminal didn't have to have lawyer. Judge had justify every criminals act as a joke. The fact two of as had complained behind closed door in private. Then we were accuses of supposedly spreading rumors of definitions. Actually we were victims 100% and we've proven that. However, as I've told Judge that truth means Nothing where there's no justice. Then judge had our policena behind me to arrest me if I open my mouth. However, At begging of ours case We were told by our lawyer to pay judge 50k and case we'll win the case. I've said truth should win the case and Not Money. However, we didn't have 50k even if we would paid crooked judge. Case lasted 15 years. As I said I've lost everything that I've worked for 30 years. Moreover, later on I couldn't find job because crooked company had put me on black list that prevented me to get a job. After all that terrorism that we had endured by corrupt judge and company. Also on his decision judge to justify his decision had mentioned that we had Sued criminal who actually sued two of us. I had to sell house that was only half paid off to pay crooked lawyer WHO were interested not in justice but how to prolong case long as possible for both lawyers to make more money. I've actually all records to prove that criminal get away with it's crimes because of crooked Canadian superior court Judge. Justice doesn't exist it exists only on paper. Justice is Only if you could delivery by yourself. It doesn't exists. I've all as a records but no one would listen. System is crooked as it can be. End of story. Don't look for justice in court or you'll be sorry for rest of your life. Unless You're crook yourself. Not to mention that I was almost killed by company setting up an accident. As I said story is for Holywood movie to show how judicial system works in reality so as many other institutions that had failed miserably too.👎❤️🌍👌👍

The courts decision on what is reasonable for a citizen is not and frankly Canadians are too sold on being pacifistic and peaceful to ever consider lethal force as reasonable even if a loaded gun is pointed at you.

It is extremely unlikely that you will ever find yourself in this scenario in Canada. However, if you do, and you end up terminating, or badly smashing a home invader there are a couple things you must/must not do. 1.contact a lawyer immediately after you have made the 911 call, you'll be glad you did. 2. no matter how innocent you may think you are, say absolutely zero to police when they arrive without first speaking privately with your lawyer as is your right.

Body size has little to do with self defence if the home invader is armed or trained in hand to hand combat. Home owner body size should certainly never be construed as an advantage in a home invasion scenario. Home invasions typically occur after dark or when people are expected to be sleeping. A home owner would not be able to assess the threat level of home invaders, nor immediately know their numbers. In the interest of protecting their own and their family's lives, and given it next to impossible to assess the threat in a home invasion (surprise), the amount of force required to STOP such a threat would always have to be lethal force. Only if prosecution can prove that the home owner knew or should have known that the threat of a particular home invasion was small and non-lethal, could they succeed in obtaining a conviction. Remember that the standard of proof is beyond a reasonable doubt. Only if you are a large male 'with training' in hand to hand combat and living alone, could it be inferred that there was no threat to your life by a single intruder smaller than you. Even in a case like this, the crown would have a hard time proving that the home owner knew or should have known that this intruder had no weapon, or that there were not other intruders elsewhere in the house or coming in from the street or vehicle after the first breached the entrance. In short, the crown must prove beyond a reasonable doubt, that the invaders posed no threat to life and that the home owner should have known this. However, in Turdeau's Canada, the prosecution is the punishment, as it generally bankrupts the victim, which is the point of a progressive justice system that operates on a catch and release basis and absolutely does NOT want Canadians able to defend their own homes. Their goal is to make every citizen completely dependent on the state and unable to defend against any threat, including that posed by a government.

There is no such thing as self defence in Canada. We are not allow to have anything to defende ourself. No pepper spray, no telescopic stick, certainly no gun what so ever, no bat. Nothing. Here in Canada,the message is get killed and we will investigate.

If I was ever in that situation, I wouldn't have an issue using deadly force if my safety was a factor, but first I'd warn the intruder that, 1- I have a lot of land and 2- I own a backhoe, so you make the next move.

I'm sure this lawyer is well meaning, but this whole convoluted explanation about what is lawful and what is unlawful is rediculous and should be a warning for anyone not to move to Canda, and for any sane Canadian to move out. In a defensive encounter, force should not necessarily be proportional, as there is no such thing a a fair fight. To end fights and limit harm to yourself you need a level of force that is at least one level higher than that of your opponent. Why on earth, would or should you be limited to the same level of force that a criminal is using unlawfully against you?

I went through all these stages with one huge exception: I skipped the lawyer. All by myself. I played David in kinda David and Goliath case. 😊

I was charged with criminal harassment. I got my charges dropped as a self represented. And I won a case in Small Claims court and money where I sued my accuser in harassmet case. All by myself. And you can do too.

Single father here. Had 5 guys do a home invasion on my children and myself. When i called the @moose jaw police service, i was asked if i assaulted any of the culprits. When i learned the names and places of employment, including their homes, INCLUDING MY CHILDREN AS 1ST HAND WITNESSES.... the police in @moose jaw Saskatchewan did absolutely NOTHING! LAWSUIT ANYONE?
